A List of Production Companies: The Brains Behind it All
As festival goers and music lovers just like knowing your favorite artists, lets learn a little bit more about the production companies behind your favorite events. Production companies have the most important role in ensuring everything runs smoothly, that you and I get to enjoy our time, and that the nitty gritty of things are all lined up and taken care of. I have to admit, there is so much more than what we actually see when entering a festival grounds than you’d probably think. For this post, I will highlight and recognize some of the biggest music festival production companies!
If you are into the festival scene here in the United States, this is a name that is probably familiar to you. Insomniac was established over 20 years ago in the warehouses of Los Angeles with the vision of creating a culture with music, community, creativity and allowing music lovers to express themselves and rediscover their love for music. Founder Pasquale Rotella has become known as one of the most influential and has produced a brand unlike many others. Personally, Insomniac has been my favorite production company and has put on some of my favorite EDM festivals all across the United States.
“Behind all the lights and lasers, amidst the big speakers, are moments that will last forever.”
From smaller events, bringing your favorite artist to clubs, putting on concerts to larger stages; raves and festivals, the company has also given the opportunity for those who support them a new meaning to what it means to be part of the insomniac family.
They cultivated a few festivals include Countdown NYE, Beyond Wonderland, Electric Daisy Carnival, Nocturnal Wonderland, Escape, Electric Forest, and many, MANY more.
Established in 1981, Goldenvoice is the mother of Coachella, Stagecoach, Splash House, Cali Vibes, Portola Music Festival, and more. Child to parent company AEG, Goldenvoice has put on some of the most beautifully designed festivals. Goldenvoice falls under AEG, who provides the facilities, brings in new artist, and if you’re into sports, you’ve probably heard of them before.
Goldenvoice has become a staple in the American Music scene, creating some of the most critically acclaimed music festivals globally, and allowing people and music lovers of all kinds to come together.
Ever heard of DJ Destructo? Well Gary Richards is the brains behind this next company. Founded in 2007, HARD has become one of the biggest recognized companies here in the US. HARD is known for bringing together line-ups of music from emerging artists, alternative and electronic acts, dance music, and hiphop.
The company stands out in ensuring their events hold fun and fresh themes. Creating some of the largest events including HARD Summer, HOLY SHIP!, while also putting on smaller one off shows and even Hard Haunted Mansions.
C3 Presents is the creator behind two of the biggest music festivals in the country: Austin City Limits Music Festival and Lollapalooza. Founded in 2007 in the home of one of their top festivals in Texas, the company hosts for a diverse range of musical clients embracing hip-hop, indie, alternative, and jazz within their sets. C3 is the driving force behind your favorite country music festivals.
Not only do they put on events, but they also provide artist management in genres including alternative, electronic, indie, hip-hop, and country. Being a place where clients can develop their careers further and become respected music professionals.
C3 had one goal in mind when establishing a new production company, with the purpose of organizing a place of unity for music lovers to gather together and experience the warm, surreal feeling that is sharing an appreciation for music. As they say, they are in the business of putting smiles on peoples faces, so if you are looking for a reason to smile and a once in a lifetime experience, I highly recommend checking out some of their events.
Desert Hearts Records is the company that brings together love, house, and techno. Starting in the Mojave Desert with a small gathering, they have grown asa company that values love, life, and music ti bring multiple Desert Hearts Festivals year-round across the nation.
“The idea is to spread love through music towards a better way of life. The belief is in a society where acceptance, creativity and passions flourish.”
When you attend one of their events, expect to feel the warmth and love from a community more like family and home than any other. The company not only produces large festivals, but also have some of your favorite artists under them such as Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, and Fritz Carlton.
